Vinyl Cleaning Products Since 1976

1976 – The Beginning

It all began in Neuburg an der Donau, Bavaria, in a former chicken coop building, where Herrmann Erich Knoblich began his career as an independent entrepreneur. Knosti's first product was the Archifix Box – a clever archiving system for records. Thus began our mission: to preserve and protect analog treasures.

1978 – Effective Innovation

Just two years later, at the height of vinyl's popularity, Knosti introduced the Disco-Antistat record cleaning device – the solution to a previously unsolved problem: In the 1960s and 1970s, many vinyl enthusiasts cleaned their LPs with a wet cloth while playing them. But afterward, dry playing was no longer possible. The saying "Once wet, always wet" arose. With our new washing machine, we have finally solved this dilemma – and to this day, it has become an indispensable part of the world of records.

1979 – Growth

An additional hall with an office area was built on the existing company building and a computer system was installed for the first time.

1980–2000 – Broadening of the product range

During the media boom of the 1980s and 1990s, Knosti grew into one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of cleaning and archiving solutions for all types of audio media: records, music cassettes, videos, CDs and DVDs.

1992 – New company headquarters

The company headquarters moved from Neuburg to Burgheim in Bavaria – into a new, larger company building with high-bay warehouse and a total of 500 square meters of office space.

2015 – Renaissance of vinyl

With the vinyl revival in 2015 came the new version of our
Record cleaning device: the Disco-Antistat Generation II Plus – a modern, hand-operated device with a crank drive. It combined nostalgic style with modern technology – and thus captured the spirit of the times.

2021 – High-tech meets tradition

Another milestone: the Disco-Antistat Ultrasonic – Knosti's first ultrasonic cleaning device. It combines gentle deep cleaning with state-of-the-art technology and was developed specifically for discerning vinyl fans.
It took three years to develop until it was ready for series production.

2023 – Global Presence & 2.0 Upgrade

The Ultrasonic 2.0 marks the second generation—refined, robust, and available worldwide. Today, we supply over 50 countries with precision "Made in Germany." Every day, these carefully and lovingly crafted devices leave our factory to enable vinyl lovers worldwide to optimally and effortlessly care for their treasures.

Looking to the future: 2026 – 50 years of Knosti

In 2026 we will celebrate half a century of passion for music, responsibility and innovation.
