Loudspeakers Bringing Out the Colour of Music
Spendor is a British loudspeaker manufacturer founded in 1969 by Spencer and Dorothy Hughes. Spencer Hughes had previously worked as an engineer with the BBC Research Department, where he contributed to the development of monitor loudspeakers designed for accurate broadcast reproduction.
The company’s early designs were closely related to the BBC monitor tradition, emphasizing natural tonal balance and exceptionally clear midrange reproduction. Over the decades Spendor has refined this approach through the development of proprietary drivers and carefully engineered cabinet designs.
Many Spendor loudspeakers continue to be designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom, and models such as the Classic and A-series have received strong international reviews and awards in publications including What Hi-Fi?, Hi-Fi+, and Stereophile.

FROM CONCEPT TO CREATION
Manufacturing a loudspeaker, particularly one that performs as brilliantly as a Spendor, is no easy task. In this video, each stage of the build process has been beautifully documented.
It takes us six days to build a loudspeaker and a whole year to design one. This is what the process looks like for our D7.2 loudspeaker.
