Chord SUZI Pre
Designed by John Franks, the Suzi Pre is a versatile pre-amplifier, with a built-in MM/MC phono stage. The Suzi Pre allows the direct integration of the new Suzi amplifier to create acompact amp, preamp and phono stage system or can be used as a standalone pre-amplifier.
The Suzi system has been conceptualised to offer consumers myriad options while accommodating existing Hugo 2 and Hugo 2/2go owners by offering a purpose-designed ULTIMA-technology amplifier solution with similar space-saving chassis dimensions.

The fundamental function/responsibility of pre-amplifiers in audio systems is to accept various audio signals, select one, adjust the volume level, and then feed it to the power amplifier with good signal conditioning.

The new XP-12 starts with a new power supply. It uses an efficient toroidal design with both an electrostatic and Mu metal shield along with vacuum impregnating and epoxy fill. This gives us a very quiet transformer both electrically and mechanically.
The new design uses double-shielded low noise toroidal transformers in external supply.
The XP-32 is a three-piece modular preamplifier consisting of one control/power supply chassis and two additional gain chassis each containing analog signals of a single channel. The XP-32 generates less noise, crosstalk and distortion while delivering greater dynamic range, gain, output voltage and output current. But it is the sound, not the technical excellence, that truly makes this a breakthrough instrument.
