Construction

The TA-274B is constructed as a directly heated twin-diode rectifier using carefully selected materials and precision-manufactured components. Its glass envelope is formed from lead-free Kovar glass, produced with controlled wall thickness of approximately 1 mm and designed for high-temperature operation and reliable vacuum integrity.

The internal assembly incorporates a specially designed filament system, precision-formed metal components, custom-made mica supports and individually inspected springs. The plate structures are manufactured using dedicated forming tooling, while the internal components are assembled under controlled production conditions. The manufacturing process is carried out in Japan, with stringent inspection applied to both the physical construction and measured electrical characteristics of each completed tube.

Each tube is also individually traceable through a laser-marked manufacturing identification number applied to the upper mica. This provides a means of identifying production information and materials used should subsequent inspection or quality investigation be required.

The result is a carefully controlled construction intended to provide the mechanical stability, vacuum integrity and electrical consistency required of a high-quality 274B rectifier tube.
