The TA-300B is manufactured and assembled in Japan, with production taking place at Takatsuki Electric Industry's own facility. Approximately 90% of the components used in Takatsuki's vacuum tubes are manufactured in Japan, with production and quality control carried out within the company's manufacturing process.
The glass envelope is produced in-house from lead-free cobalt glass. The glass is approximately 1 mm thick and manufactured with controlled, consistent dimensions. The material provides the thermal resistance required for vacuum-tube operation while maintaining the integrity of the vacuum inside the envelope.
Several of the tube's internal components are manufactured to closely controlled specifications. The springs used in the TA-300B are made from selected tungsten material and individually inspected. The filament assembly uses specially processed nickel wire designed for uniform heating.
The grid is made from selected tungsten material, with the wire diameter controlled to within ±1 μm before being gold plated. These components are assembled individually as part of the tube manufacturing process.
Takatsuki also manufactures the glass valve-forming process in-house, using equipment developed specifically for this purpose. Standardised processing is used to improve consistency and production yield.
Each tube carries a laser-marked production number on the upper mica. This provides a means of tracing production information, including the production date and materials used, should this be required.
Final inspection includes both visual examination and measurement using specified test equipment. Tubes that meet the required inspection criteria are then released for shipment.
