World's First C-1000 Carbon Cantilever in Moving Coil Cartridge
The ZYX Ultimate series (100, Airy, 4D, OMEGA, and DYNAMIC) introduces the first-ever carbon cantilever in a moving coil cartridge. The carbon rod is composed of 1000 pieces of composite carbon fiber, hence the name "C-1000 Carbon Cantilever." This composite carbon fiber is more rigid than aluminum, iron, and titanium. Additionally, its specific gravity is just half that of boron. As a result, the C-1000 carbon cantilever represents the ultimate and ideal material for analogue record playback.
The carbon cantilever offers an extremely wide frequency range and superior tracking performance. Another significant advantage is that the mechanical sound signal picked up at the stylus can travel straight and directly to the coil through the 1000 pieces of carbon fibers. This design ensures that reflected, repeated, or modulated mechanical sound signals are entirely absent.
The overall result is a sound experience that is the finest, most natural, dynamic, and true to the source you have ever encountered.
Double Structure Body
By combining non-metallic materials in the body construction, resonance occurring on the body's surface is prevented from influencing the generator system. An additional benefit of this construction method is that it is both lightweight and rigid.
Magnetic Circuit for True Stereo
This magnetic circuit has an ideal construction that meets 15 vital design criteria. As a result, you will enjoy a smooth and natural stereo sound with extremely even balance between both channels.
Micro-Ridge Stylus
The stylus used in the Ultimate series has the edges of the diamond shank set parallel to the sides of the cantilever. This design aligns the hardest axis of the crystal as the contact point with the record groove, providing stable and smooth tracing and producing a highly refined sound. Additionally, this alignment extends the stylus’s lifetime to 2000 hours. The stylus is of the Micro-Ridge type, originally developed in Japan, which offers the highest performance. The contact radius is consistently 3μm, achieved by a ridge with a 6μm thickness.
