Ortofon SPU Classic N E Phono Cartridge

Unusual in this price class, the Fideles features a solid advanced Titanium Timet 1100 body of unparalleled energy transfer ability and unique combination of strength and light weight.

The generator system is a double-magnet - focused field - moving ferrum pipe - principle which gives a healthy high output of 5.5 mV. Very easy handle for any phono stage and no need for a high-gain / moving coil phono input.

The archon© time-aligned moving coil phono cartridge is a new design.

Featuring an unique designed uni-body made from a solid block of Timet 1100 - an ultra-strength Titan-alloy. Internal liquid dampening at certain areas provides an unique energy transfer ability to conserve and bring to your ears even the finest and smallest details in sound. Thus enriching the sonic picture with rarely heard inner harmonics and ambiance nuances.

The Palladian features a hand hammered Timet 1100 Titanium body of unequalled strength and with an unparalleled ability to transfer energy.

In the Palladian we find a strong heart with more energy (coil windings), a body more agile with less inertia (reduced moving mass), featuring further a very special, subtle mix of small measures taken to fine tune each and every parameter of performance allowing for a sonic explosion beyond our expectations and hopes.

The IQ I features a rigid yet lightweight body made from Pocon, which is equipped with integral threaded inserts for easy installation in the tonearm head-shell. This mounting system greatly improves mechanical coupling between the cartridge body and head-shell in comparison to the traditional nut & bolt fixing.

The internal coils are made from extremely fine copper wire, and the cantilever is formed from a specific grade of aluminium tube. You may also notice that the suspension is more stiff than usually seen in Moving Magnet cartridges of this type.

The IQ III features a rigid yet lightweight body made from Pocon, which is equipped with integral threaded inserts for easy installation in the tonearm head-shell. This mounting system greatly improves mechanical coupling between the cartridge body and head-shell in comparison to the traditional nut & bolt fixing.

The internal coils are made from extremely fine copper wire, and the IQ III uses the same cantilever material and diamond found in the legendary Audio Note IO I moving coil cartridge. Made from titanium tube rather than aluminium, the cantilever is unique, and in combination with the Audio Note Type 1 stylus, offers a level of performance that was often though impossible to achieve with a Moving Magnet design.

Generator Principle

The moving coil principle was chosen as the basis for the design of the IO range of cartridges, as it offers greater linearity in terms of electrical output from the mechanical movements of the stylus than any other system. We investigated moving iron, moving magnet, strain gauge, electret and electrostatic generators, and even took the unusual step of acquiring a Toshiba cartridge that employed light emitting diodes to generate the signal from the groove, but in the end it was felt that the quality of the moving coil system as described by P. G. A. H. Voigt would yield the best overall results.

• The total set weight is 15.5g

• Assembled and tested in the Audio-Technica Factory in Fukui-Japan

VM95 series Elliptical stereo cartridge.

The AT-VM95E, the new Audio-Technica entry model Elliptical cartridge will replace the legendary AT95E and take advantage of the developments of the AT95EX introduced in 2015. The AT-VM95E features an improved and distinctive design resulting in a more rigid low resonance housing, and two threaded inserts in the cartridge body enabling it to be mounted to the headshell or on an integral tonearm with just two screws, no nuts.

• Aluminium cantilever

• 4.0mV output voltage

• Compatible body with all VM95 Series stylus assemblies

• Replacement for AT95E and AT95EX

• 20 to 22,000Hz frequency response

VM95 series 78rpm SP cartridge. Also available pre-mounted on AT-HS6 Headshell.

Since SP records have monaural modulation, when combining an SP stylus with a stereo body, such as the AT-VM95SP, it is recommended to use the “MONO ON” function “ of your standard Stereo Phono Preamplifier to minimize record surface noise.

AT-VM95SP, as stereo cartridge for SP mono records, when used with a dedicated archiving phono preamplifier equalizer incorporating various functions to generate a mono signal from Stereo inputs (Mono L+R, Mono L, Mono R, LR Variable Mix) allows professional archivers to minimize noise and distortion by sampling the least damage side of the grooves from an old record.

• 3mil SP stylus for reduced record surface noise

• Aluminium cantilever

• 2.7mV output voltage

• Compatible body with all VM95 Series stylus assemblies

VM95 series Elliptical Nude stereo cartridge. Also available pre-mounted on AT-HS6 Headshell.

The AT-VM95EN, features a Nude Elliptical Diamond. The construction of the stylus being a one piece diamond with a round shank inserted in the cantilever creates a lighter and more rigid transmission system than a diamond tip bonded on a round titanium shank such as in the AT-VM95E. Also the use of nude diamond implies a substantial difference in pricing, yet the quality of the reproduction will be immediately noticed, specifically in the fidelity of high frequencies and in the quality of the transient responses.

• Aluminium cantilever

• 3.5mV output voltage

• Compatible body with all VM95 Series stylus assemblies

• 20 to 23,000Hz frequency response

VM95 series Microlinear stereo cartridge. Also available pre-mounted on AT-HS6 Headshell.

The AT-VM95ML, features a Nude Microlinear diamond, not only the Microlinear stylus will permit to double the duration of your stylus. The performance of a line contact stylus, will minimize the “inner groove distortion” as well as providing extended frequency response and maximize resolution in the medium and high frequencies of the audio program material.

• material. Aluminium cantilever

• 3.5mV output voltage

• Compatible body with all VM95 Series stylus assemblies

• 20 to 25,000Hz frequency response

VM95 series Shibata stereo cartridge. Also available pre-mounted on AT-HS6 Headshell.

The AT-VM95SH, features a Nude Shibata stylus, one of the most acclaimed stylus format by high end audiophiles. The Shibata stylus produces mid and bass sounds strong and rich in addition to offer a frequency response up to 25,000 Hz.

• Aluminium cantilever

• 3.5mV output voltage

• Compatible body with all VM95 Series stylus assemblies

• 20 to 25,000Hz frequency response

The AT-VMx series brings new warmth and realism to Audio-Technica’s premium dual moving magnet (MM) cartridge line, delivering an expansive soundstage that’s alive with musical detail.

Like all our MM cartridges, this updated design closely mirrors the cutter head used to make the vinyl master. It utilizes two magnets, positioned to match the left and right channels in the stereo record groove for outstanding channel separation and extended frequency response. But the new VMx series also introduces material and design changes to further refine the sound, offering responsive playback that is especially sensitive to the dynamism of musical expression.

• Para-toroidal coils improve generating efficiency

• Mono body terminating left and right channels reduces surface noise

• Durable low resonance polymer housing

New!

The AT33xMONO/II features a “True Mono” dual moving coil design that is unaffected by any vertical noise components picked up from the record groove, instead generating electrical signal only from horizontal movement. This results in exceptionally clear monaural sound with a more substantial low end and reduced surface noise. The dual mono coil design is also ideal for mono playback on a stereo system.

The AT33xEN is an excellent all-around cartridge choice, delivering warm, full-bodied audio reproduction. It features a 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical nude stylus attached to a hard duralumin tapered pipe cantilever to provide excellent tracking of the record groove with enhanced high-frequency control. Our newly developed suspension mechanism uses piano wire for even better tracking accuracy, lowering the dynamic compliance slightly for more substantial audio, particularly in the mid-low range.
