Ground Noise in Tonearms
Vinyl playback creates brand new electrical energy every time your cartridge stylus touches the groove. In contrast, the rest of the audio chain takes electricity from the mains, which is inherently noisy. Resolving this noise is a primary focus for every audio electronics engineer in every component in the audio chain. Because vinyl creates an electrical signal, truly great vinyl replay can deliver better transient performance, since the interference it faces is mainly mechanical and less tied to mains and system noise.
Yet, ground noise is a problem for the tonearm. At 5mV for MM Carts, and as low as 0.1mV for MC, the vinyl signal is the most vulnerable to airborne interference. To get internal cables through the armtube, without disturbing the arm’s mechanics, you generally use thin, unshielded wires. The armtube then covers shielding duties. Because of this, it needs to be grounded to prevent noise from entering the system. The issue is that, while shielding, the tonearm’s tube and external cables essentially act as antennas for RF and EMI, which affects the signal within. Additionally, although most phono stages’ inputs are followed by a capacitor or DC blocker (which prevents much of the system noise from reaching the cartridge), some AC and microphonic noise still reaches the tonearm’s grounding and interferes with the signal within. Standard grounding reduces this considerably, removing loud phono hum. But standard grounding is far from a perfect solution, leaving low-level noise behind, which lowers the fidelity of your audio signal. This is where the Ground Anchor comes in.
Meningful Improvements
Origin Live’s new Ground Anchor goes beyond standard ground noise reduction.
Developed in close collaboration with UK noise specialists Puritan Audio Laboratories, it’s a compact grounding tool (160 × 65 × 40 mm) that connects between your tonearm cable grounds and the phonostage’s grounding post.
Inside its enclosure, advanced noise-absorbing technology converts disruptive ground-referenced interference into harmless heat, effectively removing it from the signal path.
The improvements are meaningful. The Ground Anchor provides clarity in detail and texture, deeper black backgrounds, better separation of musical elements, and more precisely defined soundstages. It’s particularly effective with step-up transformers (SUTs), where you often trade detail for space and richness.
A standout feature is the three cartridge-side grounding posts. Origin Live’s premium tonearm cables use multiple grounds (for arm structure, shielding, and optional signal reference) to minimise hum across varying phono-stage designs. This makes connections easier and less cumbersome, with the added benefit of supporting up to three tonearms from a single unit.
Universally compatible with any tonearm and phonostage, the Ground Anchor reflects both our and Puritan’s shared conviction that products must be developed by ear, through real listening tests.

The AT617a cartridge stylus cleaner is a specially formulated polyurethane gel that gently removes dirt particles from the stylus tip when the stylus is lowered onto it.
The gel’s surface is washable and will remain tacky for years. Specifications Material: Polyurethane gel Dimensions: 37.5 mm (1.48") diameter × 17 mm (0.67").
Adhesive stylus cleaner that does not stain the needle tip with chemical substances.
The best sounding head shell in the world.
Reduces the number of contacts with the connector, makes the contact with the tone arm more solid, and increases the strength of the head shell body.
Ionizer for a quite playback.
“I can report with complete confidence that the Vinyl Ionizer ION-001 is without a doubt the most effective anti-static device I have ever used. My vinyl playback has never sounded quieter, more revealing, and more enjoyable.” — Positive feedback
The ES-001 eccentricity detection stabilizer earned high praise from analog audio enthusiasts. Inheriting its core design, the ES-002 introduces carefully considered improvements to achieve a higher level of perfection. Enhancements in structure, materials, and balance ensure superior reliability and ease of use in practical applications.
LP Stabilizer with Piezoelectric effects.
The beautifully finished precision machined nonmagnetic stainless steel base and top modules are girdled by a layer of damping carbon fiber. The bottom surface is covered with 16 concentric cushioning grooves made of an extremely effective Piezo Electric damping material.
This is a weight clamp machined from aged solid African blackwood — the same material used for clarinet horns. Its shape helps neutralize vibrations in the record during playback.
On demo !
Many clamps flatten records successfully but have very mixed results on sound quality. As a generalization, most tend to enhance and pump up the bass whilst dulling down the upper mid-band. There is also a perceived softening of dynamics (even in the bass), a slowing down of the sound and the decay of notes suffers.

The essence of the weight clamp is a rigid, solid piece of sapphire. The exceptional rigidity and resilience of sapphire help eliminate vibrations in the record caused by needle chatter and sound from the loudspeakers.

The new Gravity Two record weight removes harmful vibration from your records surface, and delivers enhanced bass depth, impeccable separation, and a midrange that’s richer and clearer.
Damper isolation feet can be used under any audio component to filter structural vibrations, while also acting as noise suppressors for vibrations generated by the component itself. They are sold in sets of 3 or 4 pieces.
Every vinyl enthusiast has records in their collection, or come across LPs they’d love to own, but were just too warped for any cartridge/arm to track. The DF-2 the one-stop, one-button solution to your problems! The DF-2 provides controlled-heat perfect flattening for all your warped records, even those with only slight irregularities just enough to unsettle your cartridge and cause mistracking.

“The Cartridge Enabler” – decoupler and azimuth adjustment to upgrade all cartridges.
As you might guess, the “Cartridge Enabler” “enables” your cartridge to operate much more effectively. Consisting of a thin material which you fit between the cartridge and headshell, this simple device is one of the most cost effective upgrades you will come across.
A platter mat upgrade is highly effective because it affects the critical interface between your vinyl records and the turntable you play them on. Experimentation with different turntable mats is simple and quick. You find the sonic differences are usually noticeable. Even if your turntable is not supplied with a platter mat, this mat will improve sound quality. Origin Live’s Platter Mat Upgrade makes a far greater difference than most others, bringing a positive difference to every aspect of the music.
