The Air Line tonearm is the result of extensive experience in crafting top-class radial tonearms, combined with in-depth research into air bearing technology.
It features a rigid, low-resonance aluminium construction and offers easy, repeatable adjustments for both VTA and azimuth—using the same high-precision mechanisms found in our finest tonearms.
The air bearing itself is of the type used in precision measuring instruments and high-accuracy machine tools, where frictionless movement and exact positioning are critical. The gap between shaft and bearing is just 5 microns, creating an ultra-rigid, frictionless bearing capable of supporting loads over 10 kg. This ensures that the cartridge experiences no vibration or movement in unwanted directions, extracting only musical information from the grooves.
Pressurized air is provided by one of the quietest compressors available, paired with an air-drying unit. For best results, the compressor should be placed outside the listening room and connected via a thin plastic tube.
