Double Bearing Pivot suspension
The key to tonearm quality is the sensitivity and stability in retrieving delicate signals, for which the bearings are the determining factor. The ZA12 employs specially designed “Double Bearing Pivot suspension” for vertical suspension, (which supersedes even two sets of fine radial bearings, installed SA-1.2B). Schematic in this photo is exaggerated Illustration to show you inner structure of Double Bearing Pivot, extracting inside parts to outside, on purpose. Thanks to this ultra-fine precise suspension, you would enjoy extensive reproduction sound to limit-less high frequency, even from very base low sound.
Counter weight shaft damping
To damp whole movement of tonearm-wand, counter weight shaft composes of 2 pipes, brass-pipe inside and Delrin (Dupont-Plastic) pipe out side, which is connected to ZA-12 main body via outer rubber ring, through rubber adhesive. The rectangular arm-wand is machined from a solid aluminum block having an advantage in rich and tight bass reproduction. As bass sound is mainly recorded in the horizontal plane of the groove, the low resonance frequency of the ZA12 will give excellent low bass reproduction. Tonearm wires run through separate aluminum tubes inside the arm so that stereo separation is maximized. The geometry of the ZA12 is chosen to give excellent sound for all types of music, for old classical recordings, and new audiophile recordings. The curve fits nicely between the Stevenson geometry (good for classical) and Lofgren (good for modern audiophile recordings).

This is a 9 inch tonearm with unipivot bearing design with a unique, rigid round headshell made from a solid aluminium block and a base of solid brass which control all vibration and facilitate stability of the tonearm as a whole. All parts of the arm are machined from blocks of solid metal, in order to provide damping and minimise resonance. The polished pivot point is sited in an oil well, which provides extremely low friction and bearing vibration. The bearing height is at record level for optimum tracking. The silicone damping controls resonance of the cartridge and also gives stability in azimuth direction.

This is a Stogi S 12 inch version tonearm with a fully precise adjustable VTA tower fitting on the standard 9 inch tonearm distance. The Stogi S 12 VTA tonearm shares the main features of Stogi S & Stogi S 12 and 4Point tonearms, i.e. a unipivot bearing, headshell rigid construction and a unique VTA tower used in our best tonearms.
Unique feature: Most parts are glued together for rigidity and damping. We use very precise stainless steel ball bearings same as used in gyroscopes precisely mounted with zero play and very low starting and running friction and noise levels. Each bearing from factory is vacuum sealed with serial number for quality control. Each bearing's load is 20 kg. Two are used for vertical and two for horizontal movement.
While similar in construction to the Stogi, this tonearm incorporates a conical tube and the vertical bearings have highly damped brass housing. A conical tube is machined from solid aluminum rod which has built in precise azimuth adjustment worm drive mechanism.
Tonearm geometry, bearing, wires and other parts are the same as Stogi and effective mass differs only slightly.
This is a 12 inch version of Stogi Ref tonearm.
A special feature of the tonearm is a unique rigid but detachable headshell.
This is 12 inch version of Stogi Ref 313 tonearm with fully adjustable VTA tower mounting on standard 9 inch position. The Stogi Ref 313 VTA tonearm shares the main features of Stogi Ref and 4 Point tonearm, i.e. precision ball bearings, a conical tube and unique VTA tower.
4Point 9 is a shorter version of the 4Point tonearm. Due to its 9-inch length and the absence of a VTA tower, this tonearm is lighter and more compact, making it suitable for most suspended turntables.
All 4P9 tonearms have been fitted with sapphire/ruby cup bearings since their introduction, and all 4P11 and 4P14 models since July 1st, 2018.
Differs from other tonearms by introducing several new and unique features. The innovative zero-play bearing is configured on four points. The 4POINT tonearm has an effective length of 280 mm (11-inch), features highly precise VTA adjustment, and fits our standard mount with a 212 mm pivot-to-spindle distance.
At the heart of this design is the unique 4-point bearing system. Two of these points—similar to a uni-pivot—manage the vertical movement of the tonearm. The other two pointed bearings control horizontal (lateral) movement. All four bearing points offer minimal friction and zero play across all planes of movement, allowing the cartridge platform—and the cartridge itself—to trace the LP grooves with extremely low resistance and minimal vibration.
4Point 14 is a 4Point tonearm with a 14-inch (353 mm) effective length, designed to be mounted at a 12-inch (291 mm) pivot-to-spindle distance on the turntable.
A linear tangential tonearm, the Air Line incorporates an air bearing that ensures virtually zero friction in movement while maintaining a rigid and stable structure. This allows the cartridge to remain aligned precisely as the cutting head was during record production.
The Kuzma SAFIR 9 tonearm represents the pinnacle of our efforts to extract more music from vinyl records than ever before.
At the heart of the tonearm is a rigid, conical sapphire tube, providing an exceptionally stiff platform that allows the cartridge to perform at its absolute best. The bearings are our unique 4-point design—four precision spikes seated in sapphire cups, similar to those used in our 4Point tonearms. This system ensures minimal starting and moving friction, zero play in all directions, and precise, low-vibration tracking of the cartridge across the record.

The essence, heart and soul of the SAFIR 12 tonearm is an extremely rigid, conical arm tube made out of sapphire - the first of its kind and the first implementation of the precious stone for this purpose. The overall rigidity and resilience to all unwanted resonances are key natural properties of sapphire. As such, it outperforms any arm tube used in any tonearm, remaining resonant free up to 5 kHz frequency. This gives the phono cartridge generator a true "ground". Owing to the natural density of sapphire, SAFIR 12 tonearm has to have a considerably high effective mass.
When launched in 2002, the Silver Tonearm received widespread acclaim for outperforming high-end arms at a fraction of the cost. Hailed by the editor of Hi-Fi World as the best arm he’d ever heard, the Silver set the benchmark for our cost-effective designs that overtook both the SME and Ekos arms in performance.
The Zephyr is a considerable advance on the Silver arm. A stiffer arm tube and higher-grade materials in the yoke and arm base improve the definition and impact of notes, particularly in the bass which is tighter, lower and weightier than the silver. However, all aspects of the music are improved by a more sophisticated costly approach to each component.
The Encounter arm introduces dual-pivot bearings to the Origin Live tonearm range. Dual Pivot bearings decouple the arm from its environment in a far more competent way than conventional bearings. The result is similar to Uni-pivot arms in terms of a natural fluid-like quality to the sound. However, this comes without the drawbacks of Uni-pivot arms – namely the fiddly setup, wobbly cueing and decrease in bass performance.
This tonearm sounds astonishing, compared to Origin Live arms further down the range, and its commercial rivals. The ground-breaking design and meticulous attention to detail result most noticeably in an improvement of bass performance. However as always, when you go higher in the Origin Live range, every other aspect improves, notably definition, deep powerful bass, transparency and dynamics.
One of the very best tonearms on sale at any price aptly named the Conqueror. Yet, this isn’t an overblown or showy performer – it’s not voiced to impress some of the people, some of the time. Rather, it’s exceptionally even-handed and balanced in its presentation and sounds sublime across a wide range of music. An immensely high resolution measuring instrument, it is nevertheless consummately musical and organic sounding. A real ‘fit and forget’ product, no matter what you play, it just dissolves away.
Hearing an Enterprise is an unforgettable event. Breathtakingly realistic, it simply lets the music flow out to the listener in an unmediated way. Although it deserves the very best turntables and cartridges that money can buy, it unlocks huge performance gains from lesser ones and makes mediocre recordings positively sing. From its massively powerful and highly tuneful bass to a treble that is gorgeously silky yet amazingly spacious, it’s a sublime performer. The mineral clarity of the mid band is uncanny, and the sound staging profound. Prospective purchasers of a high-end tonearm owe it to themselves to audition this seminal design.
The Agile tonearm comes from an ambitious undertaking: to create a high end tonearm which improves on all that came before it. To achieve this it would have to surpass tough competition from within our own ranks, that of the Enterprise.
Ever since Origin Live was founded in 1986, Mark Baker has placed particular emphasis on continuous innovation. When it came to creating another tonearm beyond compare, the design team at Origin Live were inspired by the opportunity. In anticipation of it’s extreme performance capability, the new super-arm was named Renown.
